New to social bookmarking? Impressed by the power of referrals? Confused about descriptive tags?

Del.icio.us combines the best of referrals, public bookmarks, shared information and descriptive tags. By creating a public bookmark and labelling it with descriptive tags, individuals and groups can quickly create a public record of topics of interest. However, the ease of creating these links can quickly result in unorganized and unmanageable mountains of information. With appropriate descriptive tags, order can be retained and a framework for organizing information can be established.

What happens when _a group_ of individuals generates the tags? One persons scalable vector graphics may be another persons SVG. How can a group classify its resources?

Join us in the Horizon Project VCOP when Ruben Puentedura walks us through the use of del.icio.us and demonstrates how to get the most out of meaningful tagging. Come explore the power of social bookmarking. Browse and contribute to our growing list of emerging technologies websites. Help us choose the best tags to classify our references.
