Heidi Fleiss: Hollywood Madam

"It's a great little field trip... inside Hollywood Babylon. 4 Stars!" -- Toronto Sun.

"A revealing depiction of the human side of scandal. 4 Stars!"

-- Toronto Star.

Documentary specialist Nick Broomfield (Aileen Wuornos: The Selling of a Serial Killer) turns his camera on the biggest Hollywood scandal of recent years. When Heidi Fleiss was arrested for running a prostitution ring, all of Hollywood was shaking in its boots -- Fleiss had the proverbial "black book" listing many of Tinseltown's biggest names as her clients and she was threatening to name them... Broomfield sets out to find out what kind of person Heidi Fleiss really is. He succeeds -- when she finally consents to be interviewed she comes across as far more human than most of the people around her. "Those familiar with Broomfield's films will recognize his give-'em-enough-rope approach. As he speaks to pimps, prostitutes, drug dealers, enforcers, cops, ex-cops, porn stars and various other flotsam and jetsam of the greater Los Angeles area, his film turns into a broad statement about America and the American Dream -- a dream seemingly constructed out of all seven deadly sins but especially pride, lust and greed.... Just about everybody in Heidi Fleiss: Hollywood Madam is either creepy, deranged, drug addled, surgically enhanced or stupid. Or all of the above. It's a great little field trip into the world of glamour..." -- Liz Braun, Toronto Sun.
