Andrew Niccol's smarter-than-usual sci-fi entry posits Ethan Hawke as a genetically inferior "in-valid" -- one born naturally rather than in a test-tube -- who assumes the identity of a superior and becomes embroiled in the murder of a Gattaca Corp. (the company that controls all space travel) official. Uma Thurman, Alan Arkin, Jude Law and Gore Vidal (!) co-star.
