Tarantino transfers Elmore LeonardÕs tale -- about a forty-ish stewardess (Pam Grier) who plans to rip-off the gangster (Samuel L. Jackson) she works for -- to the mean streets of Los Angeles, creating his most mature work to date. He even shows some heart! Robert De Niro, Bridget Fonda and Robert Forster are superb in support.
