Gabbeh
An exultantly lyrical vision of nomadic life in southeastern Iran, Mohsen Makhmalbaf's film unfolds imagery so pure and beautiful that it can't help but keep viewers rapt. Essentially a chronicle of a carpet (a gabbeh) and the life of one girl who bears the name Gabbeh, it is a profoundly humanist piece of filmmaking.
