The rugged beauty of the northwest coast of Ireland provides the setting for John Sayles' enchanting adult fairy tale based on Rosalie K. Fry's Secret of the Ron Mor Skerry. The film tells the story of Fiona Coneelly, a spirited, single-minded 10-year-old who, in her search for a lost brother, becomes the instrument of powerful unknown forces of nature which conspire to restore her dispossessed family to their rightful home.
