Friends, there is scullduggery afoot at UBC. A few months ago, CUPE 116 and UBC Food Services were in the national news for trashing the jobs of two hardworking hotdog venders, Andre and Glenna - the Tubesteak Debacle as it has become known in the hallowed halls of learning. UBC Denizens were surprised this Tuesday by the return of the familiar Mr. Tubesteak stands by the UBC busloop and elsewhere. What most do not know, however, is that these stands are now manned by UBC Food Services staff, unionized employees belonging to CUPE116. What makes this squashing of individual enterprise all the more repugnant is the arrogance with which it has been undertaken by CUPE116 and Food Services: The possibility that these jobs were being obliterated to make way for unionized insiders was documented as a possibility by concerned UBC students on this very website back in January and is still there for all to see. And so, having witnessed first hand the arrogance of UBC Food Services and the contempt the CUPE116 exec. have for ordinary hardworking individuals, we are afraid that in all good conscience,
