Dear Sir/Madam,

Please allow me to express my annoyance at the recent "anti-Tubesteak" activities by the UBC administration.

No one argues that you have the *legal* right to do what you are doing, however for every situation there is a right thing to do and a wrong thing to do. Sadly, the administration has chosen the wrong thing.

The administration has a responsibility to students as much as to its employees, and students have been unambiguous in their support for the happy hotdog carts. CUPE, not surprisingly, objects; however the failure of UBC food services to turn a profit (despite having a virtual monopoly!) indicates a large degree of incompetence among the food services employees and/or management. Moreover, the students have been clear and vocal in their objections to the quality/price of Food Services fare. Clearly, turning away the 'Hotdoggers' (perhaps with the intent to replace them with CUPE workers?) is a morally wrong decision, and a bad business decision.

If a man steals my coat, I don't offer him my shirt as well. CUPE has had their shot, and failed. To quote one of your own, "It's time to move on".
